Seven Months of Breastfeeding, and counting.. hopefully

For the past 6 months, I’ve been blessed to be given the opportunity to exclusively-breastfeed Kimi, despite facing several terrible drought seasons. For this, I couldn’t have been more thankful. All seemed rosy and I got the vibe that this will go on until Kimi’s second birthday. That was up until last week… …when I used up all of my stock. Stock’s gone. Depleted. Finish. Nada. Nil. Ilek. Actually, tinggal satu botol of 4 oz. But that doesn’t make any difference. What’s worse, I’m getting less and less for each pumping session. ********************************************************** I’m such a strong advocate of breastfeeding to the extent of making myself look like an ass / jerk when it comes to situations like these: Other people : “I tak boleh la breastfeed anak I, susu I tak cukup.. lagipun I hantar anak I dekat babysitter..” Me the ass: “Ada je sebenarnya susu, you kena selalu pump aje” Other people : *Offered kimi sweets* Me the ass: “Ey, ey tak boleh! Dia tak makan sweets!” ...

Questions and Dilemmas, Unanswered

Wah tajuk macam tgh tulis novel. Or some self-help books. Peeps, being a parent aint easy. I knew that even before I became one, and one must’ve expected that I prepared myself, mentally at least, but no. I’m now a mother of a cute, bubbly, six months old kid, and I still have no idea what to do and how to do things that I know I’m supposed to do. I always look at Kimi, wondering if I am raising him right. Being his mom, I want him to grow up to be the ideal adult we all wanted to be ( in my case, couldn’t be, or not there yet ); successful, all-rounder, gets at least 3.5 every semester, graduated with some cum-laude, finishes at least top 5 in the 100-meter sprint or any sports for that matter, is one of the players in the basketball or netball team, plays at least one music instrument, has the charm to attract the opposite sex effortlessly…Teehehehe… yeah I know, too high of an expectation, kalau Kimi dah boleh baca sure dia stress blood goes upstairs. Anyways, coming back to this di...

Insensitive or Makcik Menyebok Part 2

Okay, this is a short one. Remember the girl who wore subang with bintang israel? Yeah, last time I went there, again, which was a week ago, she was still wearing the same subang. Ach said it was different color than the previous one, but, who cares, the symbol was still the same. Ha, talk about ignorance there. Felt like telling her again, but nah, obviously this one is pretty thick. So, let her be =) If you happen to be travelling south and feel like checking this gal out, just remember to stop at Air Keroh R&R on your way back and beli waffle dekat situ. You wont miss the waffle shop, its the only one there. p/s: maybe one day I'll go there again and casually drop a picture or article from Wikipedia on Israel along with pictures of babies shot dead by them. With a HUGE picture of that six-point star. tehehehe...

Happy 1st Mother's Day

Image
I couldn't have asked for a better first Mother's Day! Both my angels, Ach and Kimi made today one of the best days of my life! Thank you thank you thank you!!! Lemme share with you how ach, kimi and Mommy celebrated our first mothers day. Ach woke me up at 830 bringing this tray: Yeap that's breakfast in bed, prepared by ach with love =) Thats roti telur, scrambled egg, choc milk and orange juice decorated with bunga raya and a Mommy's Day card made by.... Kimi!!! That's how the card looks inside. See the drawing of the tangan? that's Kimi's hand, traced by Ayah. Under the popped-up earth reads, "To world's greatest mom!! Happy mother's day." Awwwww.... Then see the doodles on the bottom right? that's Kimi's signature . Somehow ach managed to make kimi pegang the pen and scribbled his "signature". Ach cakap that morning habis kaki, tangan Kimi kena conteng with marker pen. These two buncits made me feel like the luckiest,...

We're famous!

Tehehehehhe totally perasan. A week before I gave birth, Ach and I went to PrettyPeektures for my pregnancy shots, which, I must say came out beautifully! ( perasan seriously ). The photographer, Azmin sangat bes sebab dia sangat friendly, and we got good price for the shots. I tell you, totally puas hati! Can tergolek terbaring ter semua semua and was totally comfortable in front of the camera. ( But that's maybe because I'm vain ). Today, I was surprised when ach showed me this pic: Yesssss that's aChieaJanie! They're using our picture for the promo teehehehehehehehe... Me so jakun terus blog malam ni jugak! Anyways, fathers, go take piccies with your wifies and babies yeay! p/s: prettypeektures did not pay me to promote their service, this is a testimony of one satisfied customer =D

Six Wonderful Months

Image
Kimi turns exactly six months today... Honestly, time flies really fast when you're having fun =) For the past six months, I must say this buncit has achieved a lot! ( ecey mommy ini perasan ). Among Kimi's milestone so far: weighs 7.8 kg. I get a lot of ppl calling him semangat and once, gemok when we're strolling in the malls. likes to jump-jump a lot. Doesnt matter if he's in a good mood or not, as long as you stand him up, he'll jump can roll over left and right, flip over from back to tummy and tummy to back. knows his name. But then maybe he gets a bit confused sometimes coz I often call him baby. Hahahaha I knowwwwwwwwwwww, I'm spoiling himmm... what to do? likes toys that are hanging and swinging in front of him will pull anything he can grab, mostly my hair and my rantai dah kenal mommy and ayah, our faces and our voices. This I know for sure when he starts to cry whenever we're around and not pick him up. And I know he knows me sebab he cries with ...

Insensitivity / Makcik Menyebok??

Three days ago, on our way back from kampong, we stopped at Ayer Keroh R&R. This has somehow been a wajib thing to do, sebab the last time we stopped there with mak, she bought this supposedly sedap kueh koci labu and has asked us to buy them for her everytime balik kampong. Sadly, since then, kitorang tak pernah dapat beli kueh koci tu lagi, sebab orang tu dah tak jual dah… sian mak aku… Sorry, I digress. At the R&R, while ordering for my waffle peanut butter and chocolate, I noticed tge cashier girl was wearing ear studs in the shape of the six-pointed star that’s used in Israel’s flag, or as the Israelis call it, the Magen David . I thought that was quite insensitive of her, I mean, with all the brutal genocide and annihilation the Israelis have done and being the war criminals they are. The girl’s Malay, or at least looked and talked like one. I don’t know if I was being too sensitive or apa, but I felt like I had to ask the girl if she knows what she’s wearing. At the ris...
