Isya' 2 kali in one night, in Ramadhan

Image
Alhamdulillah, all of my siblings gathered to bukak puasa at Mak's place today. Mak cooked my favorite gulai, I think the amount of rice I had today is more than what I have taken for the whole week. Everyone was here, except for my eldest nephew who's in Penang now, and Bancik who had to leave early because he wasn't feeling well. After a hugeee buka puasa, all of us did our Maghrib together with Abangah as imam, and everything was fine... Until we started Isyak. It was 2nd rakaat. Abangah sedang baca Al-Fatihah when suddenly we heard the voice of a second imam, reciting Fatihah at the top of his lungs. I smiled. Then a few seconds later the Imam went silent, and I heard a loud laughter dekat saf depan. Rupa-rupanya my youngest brother tak tahan geli hati and burst out laughing dengar suara second imam. Who happened to be, of course, si bertuah Hakimi. Habis semayang orang. Then okaylah lepas semua orang dah chill, we started our prayers again. Hakimi...

Mami Sayang Kimi

Tonight, after our daily reading revision session, when the lights are off and we are on the bed: Kimi, Mami marah-marah tu sebab Mami sayang. Mami nak Kimi jadi orang pandai. Marah-marah macam tak sayang je. Iye, Mami sayang. Kalau Mami tak sayang Mami biar kan aje. Iyela tuh. Iye, Mami tak tipu. Mami sayang kimi sangat. Ye la ye la . And we both hugged, while I sob quietly.

First Ramadhan on My Own

Without mak. Why does it matter?  Because I will be the one responsible to siapkan sahur for the family.  Yes, at 29, when others my own age are already waking up at 530 daily to prepare breakfast, lunch and dinner for the whole family, waking up at 5 am for 30 days in a year, is really, really a big deal for me.  Spoilt? Yes. Lazy? Yes. Well. Lately. Yes, I have been very very lazy lately. So for all the years that I have lived, I have never been the one to wake up early and prepare sahur for everyone. Okay prolly a few times, when Abah was in the hospital and mak wasn't home, but seriously, can't recall when was the last time I took that responsibility. Usually aku bangun je the maid and mak dah prepare sahur aku tinggal makan je. When I was in RPI  i would either have early sahur or skip sahur altogether, which was bearable sebab it was winter.  Oh my goodness writing this down is seriously painful.  Now that we are living in...

Hakimi's Vocab

At 4, Hakimi is now our bestfriend. Boleh lawan cakap, lawan gaduh, lawan common sense. As long as both of us ada patience, berapa lama pun takpe. But, surprisingly, at 4, Hakimi masih pelat with a few alphabets, example, G, K. And funnily, he has this difficulty in pronouncing certain three-syllable words with R being the middle syllable. Dia mesti terbalikkan 2nd and 3rd syllable. Dereden (dragon) = dederen Derapu (garpu) = Deperu Berapa  = Bepere Update 23/8/2012: Mercun = mecerun I think those are the only ones that he used to get confused over, tapi sekarang dah tak kot.  Sekarang, memang seronok lawan cakap dengan budak ni. Mostly ayah dia yang layan dia sebab mami is in her own bubble and they are in theirs. Can't wait for that bubble to burst, so i can be normal again and layan my baby macam normal jugak. I miss my baby!

Spread Love

I think I'm on a blogging mojo here, so let's resuscitate the blog selagi the mojo is around.  Sooo I have been reading my previous entries... especially the ones on me feeding kimi. Breastfeeding, solid food, etc. After a few entries I came to a few conclusions: Mannnn I was THAT meticulous. I had never been a meticulous person before, so the fact that I changed for that tiny creature? Amazing. Amahzing I tell yah.  People must've seen me as an ass. Yeap. I would call myself an ass back then.  You see, it felt really good when you know you are doing your best to ensure that your kid gets the best food. You prefer home-made stuff, cube everything that can be cubed, color- and date-coded the freezer's contents so they look pretty and neat, bought an expensive food warmer though it wasn't that necessary, bought SUPER CUTE feeding sets (not 1, but 5 sets), yadda yadda. Did your best to avoid sugar and salt at all costs, only refered to annabel karmel fo...

All the Things I Want to Eat but Cannot Because I Don't Know How to Cook Them

Image
Okay seriously. After a loooooooooooooong hiatus I am back. Talking about food I want to eat. All of a sudden. Apehal? Anyways... I am a kid of negeri sembilan. Abah was born in Ampangan, and Mak was born in Jelebu. My atok  (mak's side) came from Minangkabau while my other atok (great-great atok, abah's side) came from India. =D Because of that, I dig negeri sembilan / padang food and I LOVE indian food, which explains why I loved it when I was sent to India, twice. And prolly why I craved for Shalimar's biryani when I was pregnant with Kimi, which of course, tak dapatlah husband yang saya sayang tu fulfil. Its ohtay. Right. I thought of this entry because 1) I am currently famished - the cafe on the Ground floor dah tutup for nearly 2 months now, and the nearest cafe is really far - I'm too lazy to walk to get my food. 2) I miss mak and all the glorious, wonderful negeri sembilan food that only mak can cook the way I like them. So this entry is entirely dedica...
