Tumbletots: To join or not join?

Last Saturday we took Kimi to Tumbletots at The Curves for its Gymbabes trial class. It was a 45-minutes session of physical activities for the babies. The first 5 mins or so was for warming up, 35 minutes for the activities and last 5 minutes for warming down. Warming up and down includes singing and doing some hand and leg movements, while physical activities include climbing up and down ramps, ladders, practice jalan aided by bars. There were only 3 babies and 7 trainers, which I think is a good number for a small class. Anyways here are my comments: The class is a bit on the expensive side. The trial class cost me RM60. They have two types of packages, one for one month (4 sessions) and another one for 3 straight months (12 sessions). Fee for one month is RM240, fee for 3 months is RM680. For that kinda fee, I expect the activities to be more than just pusing2 tergolek. According to this lady I spoke to, the trainers usually only monitors / help new parents. Yang lain boleh bawak b...

When Ajan Went for a Football Match

Image
I know, I know, laugh all you want. Ajan, watched, football match, cannot be spoken in the same breath without somebody being laughed at. When mak first found out, she said “Kau reti ke tengok bola tu?”. Mate asked, “Sejak bila kau tengok bola mate?” Well peeps, this is what we call marriage. You accommodate each other’s plans. Even if it means spending 3 hours in a packed stadium, sitting right next to an ass who insists on clogging his and your lungs with his cigs puffs and deafening your ears with those horns. OR it could also be spending 3 hours watching women dancing and singing in Mamma Mia! or watching chick-flicks like P.S I Love You. Teehehe. Okay sorry, I digress. Back to the match, even though I don’t know much about football, I know enough to choose my team. I chose Malaysia!! Dengan bangganya I wore baju yellow amidst the sea of reds! Go Malaysia! I cheered louder than ach when Malaysia scored!! At least I know which side is our goal. Teehehehe. Sangat bangga the moment th...

Susu oh Susu!

Kimi’s almost 9 months-old now, and that’s how long I’ve been breastfeeding him. Truly satisfying. As mentioned before , my milk supply has gone down really bad, that I’ve considered supplementing with formula. I have actually, with Isomil, only couple of days after that entry. Since then, I have come to accept the fact that I’m not longer fully breastfeeding him. Actually, when I said “ come to accept the fact ”, what I really meant was, “ kept pumping, while fully acknowledging that the two bottles are not enough for one day, and assume that another bottle will magically appear out of thin air ”. The reality has never dawn on me because I’ve never seen him drinking it in front of me, let alone mixing it for him! Like they always say, ignorance is bliss. Exactly. But last night was truly heartbreaking. Apparently, my milk is not enough, he keeps waking up at night and worse, I could hear his stomach grumbling! (Yes, it took me THAT long to realize that Kimi is hungry) . I had no choic...

Feed me, mommy!

Image
It's been 3 months since I first introduced Kimi to solids. The journey has been a very enjoyable and rewarding one. Tapi, kadang-kadang, geram juge when it comes to the times that I ran out of ideas and recipes for Kimi. His daily menu consist of fruit cereal for breakfast, chicken porridge for lunch, fruit for snack time, and porridge again for dinner. Every single day without fail. The only thing that changes is the fruit and veggies in the porridge. Haih sangat kasihan. For this entry, saye nak share recipe for solids I’ve been feeding him, in return, I hope kind folks out there, if you are reading this, would share recipes for your babies. Sebabnya saya sangat kesian dengan anak saya asyik2 makan benda yang sama. The aim is to introduce him to a wide variety of food sebanyaknya yang mungkin so he wont grow up into a fussy eater. ---------------------------------- Fruit and Root Vegie Puree Any fruits – peaches, pears, apples, blueberries, pisang, papaya, carrots, mango Boil fr...

Happy Belated First Father's Day!

Image
Thanks to (*$%# we had to celebrate father's day a week late. Well, shit happens especially when you've sold your soul to the devil (read:B*&^%$) for luxuries like coffee bean and salon hair-dyes. Lets proceed shall we? My plan was to make the whole weekend as a "weekend filled with home-cooked and home-made goodness, all made with love". Translated to: I dont really have money to take you out to some fancy restaurants or relaxing weekend getaway or buy you some complicated gizmos so you'll just have to settle with what Ive planned for you. =) I started with chicken mushroom pie on saturday. This is how it came out: I think it looks a bit bleghh but Ach said it tasted good and I have to agree. Totally awesome for a first timer! Teehehehehe. He ended up eating almost half of the 10 pieces that I made. That afternoon we went back to kampung sebab his mom buat kenduri yassin. The masak-masak continued the next day when we got home from kampung. I made grilled ...
