Happy 64th Birthday Mak!

Image
Yeap, 64 and still going strong! That's my mom. Her name's Hanisah Idris, but for some reasons that my mom has narrated to us like a hundred times but i never managed to remember, she is fondly called Ara (after Zahara) by our relatives. Abah used to call her Ani. I call her mak. There was a time ( wayyyy back then ) that I tried to sound manja by calling her mama but tak  pernah melekat. Mak was born on 18 May 1946. She went to King George V School in Seremban. According to mak, she was a very smart girl in school ( ye, mak saya sebenarnya pandai puji diri sendiri ). To her cikgu's and friends' surprise, mak got married to Abah after she left school ( saya selalu cakap mak saya gatal sebab kawin awal teehehe ). Mak, in my opinion, is a very sopan and lemah-lembut lady on the outside but is a very-very strong lady in the inside ( why ohhh whyy god dont i get that from mak? ). When Abah passed away, I know Mak was very sad but I never saw her cry let alone wept or w...

Hakimi @ 19 Months

At 19 months, Hakimi can: TALK !!!! My baby can talk!!!! He can say a few words very clearly now: Nenen, nak, helo. Others are pllll (please - he melts my heart every single time he says it), do (goal), yiii (sorry), a'a (ayah), neni (mommy - like, what the hell??! ) imitate SOUNDS ! His favorites are sounds of chicken ( tutututu ), bird ( tututut ), cats ( mau ), owl ( uuuu ), car ( pbtthh - like blowing a raspberry ), bus ( same like car ), horn ( huuuuu - sambil pretend to be blowing horn with his finger). He can even imitate Ach's snores. Hahahahahahah comel. recognize PICTURES . Now alhamdulillah, he is into reading. Actually its more of looking at pictures in the book. But he can recognize a couple of pictures in the books and flashcards. When he was less than a year old he recognized peas, then horn, then bus, ducks, robots, choo-choo train, owl, aeroplane, among others la. He is fascinated at lorries and busses. Ntah kenapa. TELL you what he wants. One time, he led...

Wrong question, wrong time

One fine Thursday when I was in a VERY bad thunderstorm puting beliung twister mood, I made a call to TM's Customer Care. Biasalah when you called nanti kan dia memang kena ask all sorts of questions to verify the caller kan? TM : May I know under whose name this account is? Ajan : It's under [abah's name]. TM : Nama penuh? Ajan : [abah's full name]. TM : Boleh saya tahu nama cik? Ajan :[my name] TM  : Boleh saya tau apa nama penuh cik? Ajan : [my name binti abah's name] TM : Apa relationship cik dengan pemegang account? Ajan : *dumbfounded* He's my father. Isn't that obvious from my name? TM  : Maaf cik, kami kena tanya soalan untuk verify. Ajan : Takde soalan lagi pandai ke nak tanya? And the rest of the conversation went on very bitterly.

How to Turn a Onesie into a T-shirt

Image
Masa tengah gila shopping baju baby dulu, Ach and I main belasah je beli semua onesies , tshirts, and pants yang kitorang rasa cute. I mean, we were two excited first-time parents, semua benda pun kitorang rasa cute. Macam allergic tengok shops like Brands Outlet or FOS Kids.Asal nampak je mesti masuk, dah tu mesti beli. Kalau keluar shopping nak cari baju Mommy, alih2 baju mommy tade baju kimi gak tambah lagi satu. Or tiga. Udahnya in the end, Kimi's clothes bertimbun2 memang lagi banyak dari baju aku, sampai tak terpakai2 pun. The only reason tak pakai is because those baju are onesies, which were very adorable on Kimi when he was still a baby. But Kimi kan dah almost 2 years now, jadi I don't like to dress him in onesies anymore. I think onesies are cute on infants, not toddlers. Not even when worn with pants outside. Skema ish ish. Jadinya I have quite a couple of new onesies yang cantik, nak pakai macam skema, tak pakai sayang. Thanks to TinyDecor , I had turned his ones...
