18 Things You Can Get Rid of Today

Mak, jom kita kemas rumah tiap2 hari sabtu. Kalau jual boleh kaya mak. Just Say No to Too Much Stuff Stuff. For many of us it's worse than any four-letter word. That's because "stuff" can weigh you down and hold you back, says Gail Blanke, author of Throw Out Fifty Things. And, in the end, much of what we accumulate in life isn't all that important. As Marilyn Bohn, author of Go Organize! , points out, "No one ever says, 'I wish I'd kept more stuff.'" Still, getting rid of our discards can be a challenge. Carla Eskelsen, a mom in Farmington, Utah, admits she had trouble letting go of stuff until she figured out how to manage her "pioneer DNA." Once she figured out that donating and recycling "honored" her pioneer ancestors, she found it much easier. "It's about sharing and blessing others instead of keeping it all for yourself," she says. Here's how you can share and bless others with all of you...

Ajan's First Sewing Project

Image
Last weekend, all of a sudden, I had this urge to sew an apron for Kimi. Why apron? Because he loves to help me in the kitchen. Am I worried? A little. But, Jamie Oliver's a great cook isn't he? And he looks normal too. Besides, I needed to sew something and apron was simple enough for a first timer. I started snipping off at 9 p.m Sunday, using the only kain that mak would allow me to cut ( it's actually an old, faded and badly stained kain alas meja ). Two and a half hours ( and a messed-up sekoci in mak's vintage SINGER sewing machine ) later, Kimi was already parading his apron, while pretending to cook natik dowen for Ach. Ahhh... what a pretty sight. Kimi playing pretend-cooking, I mean. Not the apron. Mommy nak matan ape? Btw, the apron fits him perfectly! Fine, it's from a piece of alas meja and the seams are all senget benget macam ular kena palu, but still! My first sewing project. I am gila proud of myself. I even sew a little pocket in front, for...

Resolutions

According to Leo Babauta of Zen Habits , you have to make your resolutions known to public to enhance the possibility of you actually achieving them. Its called "the commitment". So here goes: In 2011 I will achieve these: 1. Lose 3 kgs and the excess belly fat 2. To have Kimi potty-trained by 1st-Q. 3. Pay off my credit card debt by 2nd-Q. 4. Something something that unfortunately cannot be shared publicly. I will report No (1) in December 2011, No. (2) in April 2011, No. (3) in July 2011, and No. (4) as soon as its achieved. Eh, tu je? Takpe, Babauta kate, set goals one by one. Focus all your efforts into achieving one goal at a time. Well. There are 12 months. 1 month gone, 11 months left. There, I've said them. Good Luck!

This time he came back with a teaspoon in his hand. Kimi: Ok mommy makan ubat dengan sudu. Me: Alaaaa sweetnya baby mommy! Tapi ini ubat kimi, not mine. Kimi: Takpeee, same. Me: *Tears rolling down my cheek* mommy sayang kimi
