Ramblings of a Mami of Two

We made this for Idris' Clan 2010 Annual Raya Gath. I found this file while going through my files and thought I'd share it here for the Idris Clan. p/s: If any of you Idris Clan aren't comfortable with this being uploaded here, do let me know I'll take it down ASAP. 

This conversation just took place five minutes ago: "Mami, nanti kimi dah besar kimi nak belikan mami kereta yang boleh jadi mee goreng", kata kimi. Kalau kereta tu jadi mee goreng, lepas mami makan kereta tu, mami dah takde la kereta?  Tak la mami, kereta tu dia jadi pinggan, dekat atas pinggan tu ada mee goreng. Lepas mami habis makan, mami tekan button dekat atas pinggan tu dia jadi kereta balik. I see. Mahal la macam tu kereta tu? Tak lah, murah je. Nanti Kimi belikan mami. Bila kimi besar dah kaya nanti, macam-macam kereta kimi belikan mami.  Amin... Kimi, nanti bila kimi dah besar, macam-macam Mami boleh tumpang. Kimi beli kereta pun Mami boleh tumpang naik. Tak payah tumpang-tumpang lah Mami, Mami naik je. Memang boleh pun. Kereta Kimi pun Mami punya.  *************** Itulah hati budak. I don't refer to Susuibu.com and other breastfeeding mum's groups pages as religiously as I did previously. I just don't want to bitch (silently) those mothers (not all) who successfully breastfeed their children, exclusively for six months or the whole 2 years (congratulations yo!) and at the same time look down upon other mothers who don't do so.  "Kasihannya anak-anak itu, ketahuilah itu hak mereka untuk disusukan oleh ibu mereka... It's been a very long time since I wrote about stuff that annoys me. You know, few years ago I always used this space to bitch about a lot of things... say... difficult exams, yucky snow, bitchy friends, people calling radio stations to moan about their sad life, etc. I'd thought of linking you to few of those posts, but the posts are so hateful and the language used was so vulgar, you might think differently of me so I decided against it.  But lately a few things have been bugging me and my brain has been repeating the same sentences over and over again, macam begging me to write those sentences down and I know it won't stop until I really write them down.  You know we, Malaysians are know for our timur values? Yes, we are a sopan bunch, we respect our elderlies, our leaders, we soften our comments to soften the blow, we exchange kuih during festive seasons, etc. These are all good values that I'm happy to be associated with.  But.  I would be happi...

From 2.95 to 2.6 to 4.6 in one month. Now at two months, he's 5.6 kg. Hadi, our bambam. Second bambam, that is. =)

Alhamdulillah, Kimi showed a lot of improvements this year... He was willing to participate, unlike last year satu apa pun taknak sampai kena pujuk-pujuk. This year he told me, "Mami, Kimi masuk sukan!" He showed true sportsmanship spirit this year. Dia masuk sukan tukar-tukar kaki. Ntahla, tak tau nak describe but I think it's quite difficult sebab nak kena coordinate tangan dengan kaki. Mami pun pening. Here';s the video, but please ignore my high-pitched voice. Oh and sorry for the vertical-video syndrome too, it's easier to hold the phone vertically than horizontally. Last year's Team Yellow became Team Orange (prolly sebab rumah merah + Kuning)... but sadly they lost the Champion Title this year. They won 2nd place instead. Takpelah. You're all champions. And Hakimi will always be my champion. =)
