#CeritaPantang

I found out that Mak is pretty liberal when it comes to pantang. I ate ayam kurma the first night I got home.  I do not take pantang very seriously causing mak and ach to worry. No socks (selipar jepun  instead), no sweaters, but i do tie my hair up) kipas. not full blast but i switc the fan on. panas la nanti i cranky. i drink 3 jugs of air one day.  i got stressed this one day sebab i cant stand stayin in the house all day. i fekt trapped. Asked mak's permission to go jln2 in the car mak tak bagi. takde special treatment lagi. was already washing the dishes and cooked for kimi  on my 4th day of pantang. mak doesnt have a helper jd x sampai hati tgk dia buat kerja sorang sorang

Hakimi the Big Brother

A lot of people have been asking me how is Kimi taking this whole I-have-a-baby-brother thing.  My answer is: He absolutely adores his baby brother, Alhamdulillah! He willingly helps me with the baby - tolong ambikkan baju, tolong assemble breastpump, tolong ambikkan diapers. Suruhlah dia buat apa apa, he will surely help without complains. He gets mad if anybody joked about bringing the baby home, he always finds opportunities to kiss his adik, he even offered to help lapkan adik dia every evening. Selalu mintak nak pegang adik, and I will always let him do it (even jantung rasa nak gugur tengok adik meliuk2 in his arms). Watching them two together is such a pretty sight to relieve my stitches. (Haha okay takde kena mengena - stitches takde la sakit sangat). However. Yeap there is a however here. He behaved like a baby for the whole of the first two weeks.  Whenever I was bathing his adik he will ask to be bathed the same way. He, w...

Our Second Son is Three Weeks Old Today!

And his name is Hadi bin Mohd Akmal. Hadi, Mami and Ayah are sorry because we named you a little late. Here's why... you see, months before you were born both of us had compiled a list of names that we both  like - individually ... after crossing out names we both didn't like, we were left with 2 names that we really like.  By the time you were born, we had already decided what to name you.  Unfortunately, one of the names is a part of your cousin's name. Mami thought it would be alright sebab your cousin's not called by that name - but when the time came to name you, Mami and Ayah tiba-tiba rasa... weird. We sought for Pakcik and Makcik's permission and they seemed to be okay. Even so, we still felt weird. Eventually we decided to ditch our first choice and find you another name. After a few days we found one that we liked. Mami called Aunt Nawaal and asked for her dad's opinion on the meaning of that name.  We then agreed to name you Hadi, ...

What to Include in the Delivery Bag - A list for forgetful, non-observant, non-first-time-mommies like me

I prepared my hospital bag as early as month 7 - in case of early labor. Alhamdulillah I delivered as scheduled - three weeks earlier actually tapi still in the same month. When the time came to actually use the bag, I found out that NONE of the stuff in the bag was usable. Apparently the bag was prepared with one thing and one thing only in mind - leaving the hospital in style: A new dress from the poplook A pair of underwear Adik's new towel, receiving blanket A pair of adik's baju (plus barut) 1 kain napkin untuk... just in case. And that's it. Three words - Kepala hotak aku le. What I forgot was how to actually survive in the hospital the three days I was admitted. Aku rasa ada sedikit bongok - mentang-mentang last pregnancy was four years ago satu haram pun aku tak ingat. Or probably I am so unobservant that I didn't really learn last time. So to help myself in the future, Ajan, here are the things that you will NEED and USE that should ...

Welcome Baby 2.0

Okay, we're calling him Adik now, since we haven't really decided on his names. We still have 7 days left. Back to the story.  Alhamdulillah, I have safely delivered Adik on Monday, 7 January 2013 at 257 pm. He weighs a healthy 2.95 kg, a mere .01kg lighter than his big brother. Adik, fresh from oven. Latched on perfectly the first time I fed him and refused to let go. Kuat mengopek, Mak kata. His birth in chronological order: Saturday, January 5, 2013 It was the day for our weekly baby check up. I was informed that baby is quite huge and is probably 3.2 kg at this time. Honestly, I was VERY scared. My petite (I believe I am petite) frame cannot take anything larger that 3.2 wey! Doc said I was already at 37 weeks and baby looks matured enough to come out. I  freaked out and told Ach to take me jalan-jalan to expedite the delivery process. Lagipun I was already feeling too heavy.  We pusing-pusing IKEA that day and bought stuff ...

2013 - Halfway there?

Image
Me : I'm turning 30 this year. Well technically I'm still 29 till June, but I can no longer answer "29" when people ask me my age, because people will surely say, "oh 30 lah tu!". Me : What have I done with my life???? Ach : Well. You know what, we're halfway there. Me : There where? Ach : Say we're fortunate enough to make it to 60. We're halfway there. Say we make it to 80, we're still almost halfway there. Okay. Never saw it that way. That didn't help at all ey. I'm halfway there. What have I done with my life and what am I going to do about it? *mid life crisis*
