Today's raya and I missed my last raya prayer in the States intentionally. Tak terasa nak pergi. Lagi lama duduk sini, lagi tak rasa macam raya. Christmas pun lagi meriah but of course la kan, its a no brainer. Duduk pun kat Amareka. Mestila meriah time christmas.

Somebody told me to think thoroughly before making the big leap. But, the more i think of it, the more stressed i got. There arent many options available anyways, its either this or that, but, actually, the heart's pretty much set on one choice, but the head says the other. Like how meh?

-------------------------

What's with having to wear only baju kurung or kebaya if you work in the government? It's pretty much an unwritten rule. Skirts are allowed in some places but generally its only baju kurung. Initially I thought it's because baju kurung is easier to wear than suits or pants, because you dont have to plan your outfit (i.e. matching pants and shirt/ skirts) in the morning. Baju kurung sarung je. Furthermore, it's easier to iron a baju kurung than a shirt or a pair of pants.

Having too much spare time, i browsed the net and landed myself on a forum where the "forumers" are mostly govt. servants. From what i read on the thread, I found out that wearing anything other than baju kurung invites perli/chance to be kutuk-ed/pandangan serong by makcik2 senior.

Whyyyyy?? Because pants are sexy and they show the shape of your legs? Or because they arent traditional and unconventional?? because everyone else is wearing baju kurung and its a sin to be different?? Because conformity is now a rule and no longer a matter of choice?? I dont get it. Hah i'm merapu a bit but you get my point. Urggh!!

Makcik2 you dont have other better things to do than bother yourself with what other people are wearing ker? Pants or skirts can be equally sopan as well. Just wear them loose enough la kan? Arghhhh this has been bugging me since, a long time ago. Not particularly because i wanna work as a govt servant, but I just can't stand the cultural dictatorship (quoting marien) imposed upon women by other women in the govt sector. Can't they just open up a bit? I wish some makcik would read this and reply because it would be really2 good to have somebody explain to me what's going on there.

-------------------------

I've found out that i'm really a surirumah type. Muehehe.. Somehow preparing meals for people close to me feels satisfying and rewarding. A friend said I'm like a surirumah. Which, the first time i heard made me cringe with, hmm, astonishment and disbelief at how true she might be? Arggh. Arrggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Saiko. I sound like a baju-kurung-wearing government servant. Traditional and conventional. Not that it's a sin anyways. Hah, now if i work for the govt i might not have any problems at all!

Marry me and I'll treat you like a king.
