Hong Kong Day 3: Part I - The Day Kimi Knew Who Goofy Is

The much awaited day finally arrived!! We’re going to Disneyland y’all! Oh and we’ll be staying at Disneyland Hotel! Double yeay!

But, check in at the Disneyland Hotel wont be until 2, and our check out time at Hop Inn is at 11.30, and the train ride to Disney Station won’t take more than 1 hr. So we decided to kill the time by jalan-jalan at the Kowloon Park, 15 mins walk from Hop Inn. Ye, kami jalan tengah2 panas tu. HK memang scorching hot in July.

Anyways, Kowloon Park is like our Lake Garden, with the Bird Aviary, Tasik Kura-kura, all the normal things you’d see in a park. Except that, they have Wifi. I know, wifi at the park? Picnicking here must be awesome.

After lunch, we headed to the East Tsim Sha Shui MTR. Getting to HK Disneyland from Tsim Sha Shui was pretty easy, only two train transfers and you’re already on board the Disneyland train! The trains were unbelievably comel, the windows were in the shape of mickey’s head, and the seats were velvet, and they have mini statues of disney’s characters.

At the Disney’s station, we took the shuttle bus to Disneyland Hollywood Hotel, where we stayed for the next three days. =D Seriously, thanks to Nads Tamzil for this idea, we loved, loved, loved the place. There are two hotels near to Disneyland, one is the Disneyland Resort Hotel and the other one is Disneyland Hollywood Hotel.  The former is the more expensive one, it does look nice and majestic on the outside, while the latter is the slightly cheaper version, but takde ape pun yang kurang, IMHO.

We were informed that July – August is HK’s cuti sekolah, which explained why the hotel was quite packed. Luckily check in process didn’t take long, minutes later Kimi was already jumping up and down on the bed. Our room was huuuuge, it feels like a bungalow compared to Hop Inn. The design reminds us of Hollywood’s glam.

We spent our evening at the pool. The pool was meant for kids, the deepest point was at my chest, but I’m short. It could be your knees or something. =P

This is when Kimi had his first encounter with Disney’s character. At approx. 6 pm, Goofy came to the pool with his bathing suit. Other kids were rushing to shake hands with him, but Kimi, being the timid person like his mom, stayed at the side. I know he wanted to salam Goofy tapi gaya-gaya mahu tapi malu. But later with some encouragement from mommy, he inched towards Goofy and finally extended his hands!!! Well done, baby!

Goofy spent some time in the pool with the kids, this time including Kimi. I tell you, nothing beats the feeling of seeing your kid THAT happy! I think Goofy made an impression on him, Kimi really really likes goofy, because when goofy was leaving the pool, Kimi literally climbed outta the pool, RAN after goofy with his hands extended while shouting, “Ti, ti, lamm, lammm! (Goofy, goofy, salam, salam!)”. OMG seriously sangat adorable!

Later that night we went to Disneyland to watch the nightly fireworks show. Will write about this in another entry.
