Makan-makan Birthday Kimi
Initially, we had planned for a breakfast picnic party, 30 October 2010, at the Taman Metropolitan Kepong, to be attended by only family members, you know, because I'm a family person. But unfortunately the weather wasn't on our side, it didn't stop raining until 9 am so we had to abandon our initial plan and have it at Mak's House instead.
Theme:
Kimi loves his blocks a lot. So we thought it's fitting to have a lego-themed party! We bought everything blue, red and yellow, even the snacks and jelly were in those colors! Ach went out of his way to get napkins, cups, fork and spoon and straws in those colors. Comel ok?
Raisins?! Ahahaha. You know I'm a freak when it comes to feeding my son. Jadi, all jajans and candies are banned from the party, hence, the raisins. Hehehehe. |
Cake:
Baking has never been one of my best qualities, hence, to spare everyone the misery of eating my batat (poorly-risen) cake, I asked my boss (yes, you read that right, my Boss, as in the one I'm reporting directly to) to bake a custom lego cake for Kimi. Her husband and her did a WONDERFUL job on the cake! It was really colorful and Kimi loved his cake. Even my guests were amazed, but prolly thats because we dont go to many themed-parties here. The cake was a steal too, thanks Puan!

Decoration
This was my (and ach's) first time organising a party that requires balloons, so we were a bit clueless in the beginning. To show you how clueless I was, I thot those helium balloons only cost me 50 cents each. Belon = 50 cents, helium free. Sebab helium = gas. Kalau tiup pakai mulut kan free? Get it?
Apparently those balloons cost me RM5 bucks a piece. There is a cheaper option which would've cost me RM2.60 each but that one only lasts for 8 hours. If you need helium balloons, you can go to Balloon Buzz (www.balloonbuzz.com.my) or Party@World (go to Ikano or Solaris).

Food:
Since we were supposed to have a picnic party, I thot it would be cute to pack nasi lemak in blue, red and yellow papers but haha! mana la pulak aku nak dapat kertas bungkus nasi lemak in those colors? So I settled with the more traditional brown paper, but, thanks to Ach's brilliantness (if such word exists), we have colorful paper bands with Kimi's own lego stickers wrapped around the nasi lemak bungkus. Brilliant, I tell you! I had my guests asking where I get those custom-made nasi lemak wraps.
Guests:
Like I've mentioned before, the party was supposed to be for family, both Gombak and Yong Peng, tapi since dah buat dekat rumah, Mak pusing satu Marmar 2 and invited her mengaji students. One of them was the VIP of the party, Abang Naim.
Abang Naim is Kimi's best friend. Aku sangat terharu ok tengok the way Abang Naim layan my son, he was like a big brother to Kimi. He came, he fed kimi nasi lemak, pengangkan air kotak untuk Kimi, cakes and what not, all the while with his right hand in cast. Apparently last week a mat rempit ran over his right hand...patah tangan, siannn. When I asked Kimi what happened to Abang Naim right hand, Kimi jawap, "Tulis-tulis!". Because abang naim had conteng-conteng on his cast. Haha.
Alhamdulillah, all of mak's students datang, so we had more guests. By the end of the party, kanak2 tu semua were ravaging Kimi's toy box and rumah aku jadi macam nursery. Takpe, janji meriah.

Conclusion
Alhamdulillah, it went well, despite the pouring rain and certain people being pissed by silly reasons. Oh well, a party aint a party if nobody get pissed, kan?
Thanks to everyone, especially Mak for making it a success. From Kimi, Thanks to Atok Baba, Tok Ma, Ummie, Cik Ayip and Ayah Jat for coming all the way to Gombak from Yong Peng. Thanks to Kimi's Aunts, Uncles and Cousins, especially Makngah, Pakngah, Pakcik, Makcik Murni, Pakcupit, Along Umar Rawi, Angah Rasydan, Alang Asyraaf, Kak Tasya, Abang Naim, Kak Nureen and Farah for your support. Thanks to Kak Nureen and Farah for the awesome presents. Thank you to Paklang for your well wishes too.
Lupa, Kimi cakap thank you to Abang Naim for coming!
