What to Include in the Delivery Bag - A list for forgetful, non-observant, non-first-time-mommies like me

I prepared my hospital bag as early as month 7 - in case of early labor. Alhamdulillah I delivered as scheduled - three weeks earlier actually tapi still in the same month.

When the time came to actually use the bag, I found out that NONE of the stuff in the bag was usable. Apparently the bag was prepared with one thing and one thing only in mind - leaving the hospital in style:

• A new dress from the poplook
• A pair of underwear
• Adik's new towel, receiving blanket
• A pair of adik's baju (plus barut)
• 1 kain napkin untuk... just in case.

And that's it.

Three words - Kepala hotak aku le.

What I forgot was how to actually survive in the hospital the three days I was admitted. Aku rasa ada sedikit bongok - mentang-mentang last pregnancy was four years ago satu haram pun aku tak ingat. Or probably I am so unobservant that I didn't really learn last time.

So to help myself in the future, Ajan, here are the things that you will NEED and USE that should be packed in the hospital bag:

• 2 packs of maternity pads - the ones with loops not glue strips. You find this type more comfortable than the latter one.
• Disposable panties - because you don't want to have dirty / wet bunch of panties that you need to wash.
• Toothbrushes, toothpaste, shower gel (for Ach, Kimi, Adik and yourself)
• Shampoo (to mandi wiladah)
• Sikat (pantang-pantang pun kena cun)
• Selipar toilet
• Towels (for Ach, Kimi, Adik and yourself)
• A pair of socks
• Sweater (one for you and one for Ach - he needs to teman you in the labor room and the ward later. The rooms can be pretty cold)
• Kain batik / long skirt (no less than 2)
• A pair of baju spare for each of the family member (Ach, Kimi, Adik)
• Blanket (for Ach to teman you in the ward)
• Hair dryer (Of course you won't have two hair dryers to have one to spare in this bag, but a hair dryer comes in handy to keep the stitches dry before you put on your maternity pad)
• All of the items in the above para, to finally leave the hospital in style. 

There. I think I've got everything covered. 

Ajan, if you get pregnant again, I (Ajan in the past) have kindly listed this stuff for you so please, remember to refer to this list and not be a pain in the ass to husband by making him pegi balik rumah to get you stuff that you didn't pack.
