Questions and Dilemmas, Unanswered
Wah tajuk macam tgh tulis novel. Or some self-help books.
Peeps, being a parent aint easy.
I knew that even before I became one, and one must’ve expected that I prepared myself, mentally at least, but no. I’m now a mother of a cute, bubbly, six months old kid, and I still have no idea what to do and how to do things that I know I’m supposed to do.
I always look at Kimi, wondering if I am raising him right. Being his mom, I want him to grow up to be the ideal adult we all wanted to be (in my case, couldn’t be, or not there yet); successful, all-rounder, gets at least 3.5 every semester, graduated with some cum-laude, finishes at least top 5 in the 100-meter sprint or any sports for that matter, is one of the players in the basketball or netball team, plays at least one music instrument, has the charm to attract the opposite sex effortlessly…Teehehehe… yeah I know, too high of an expectation, kalau Kimi dah boleh baca sure dia stress blood goes upstairs.
Anyways, coming back to this dilemma of mine, I don’t know if I’m doing all the right things for Kimi, in terms of helping him learn things. So far he only has FOUR toys, his giraffe, his elephant, and two teethers. Often I find him sort of staring into space, wondering what to do next, sebab it seems like he’s already bored dengan his toys. It’s like, he’s so excited and eager to learn, and I have nothing to offer him. I try reading to him everynight, tapi most of the time didn’t manage to, because his bedtime is really early and I go back quite late. And when I do read to him, he’s more interested in tasting the book rather than listening to the story. Adoi… And I have yet to take him swimming with me, eventho ach and I go swimming every week.
Oh, and I don’t have any Barney or Thomas or Bananas in Pajamas CDs because, hmm… because… you know what? I don’t know why actually tehehehe. But this could be because Kimi hasn’t shown much interest in TV. I actually tried, a couple of times, baringkan him in front of the TV with Playhouse Disney channel on, but he prefers to guling-guling and play with his giraffe.
Haih… Honestly, I’ve never been more confused than I am now.
Heeelllpppp…..
