Hong Kong Day 4: Welcome to Disneyland! (officially)
Welcome to Disneyland! |
Fantasyland
We started the day with the Fantasyland and our first ride for the day was "The Many Adventures of Winnie The Pooh". Since it was still early, queue was short and in 5 mins were already in one of those buggies. Kimi's reaction, or rather, the lack of it, was pretty disappointing.Prolly he was still getting used to it. The fact that he's scared of the dark and loud sounds does not help too. Some parts of the ride were pretty dark, especially when they were trying to create the rain and thunder sounds. Harus la dia tak berapa nak enjoy.
In front of Sleeping Beauty's Castle. Much smaller than the ones in LA and Florida. |
Lepas tu we went on pretty much every ride in Fantasyland, the Cinderella Carousel, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, and of course, my all time favorite, It's A Small World. Kimi was pretty anxious on the Cinderella Carousel and by the time we were on our third ride, It's A Small World, he was pretty excited already. We skipped Mad Hatter Tea Cups sebab I've always hated bumper rides. Pening kepala.
He looked anxious kan? |
Queue for It's A Small World. Nasib baik air-conditioned dalam ni. |
Golden Gate Bridge next to Lady Liberty! |
Then there were two shows, The Golden Mickeys and Mickey Philharmagic. Kimi slept during The Golden Mickeys and screamed during Mickey Philharmagic 3D show. He screamed, "Wolap, wolappp! tut!" (gelap, takut!). Apa nak buat, ach had to bring him out leaving me to enjoy the show alone.Yes, selfish saya ni tak keluar sekali hihihi.
We had lunch at the Royal Banquet Hall. We ate seafood fried rice and fish and chips. All that, plus two bottles of water cost us around HK$150, which is our RM75. Not bad la the food kalau dapat makan ayam halal lagi best. Unfortunately, they did not offer any halal food so we had to stick with fish and vegies.
Adventureland
After lunch we went to the Adventureland to watch Festival of the Lion King, which IMO was the best show we watched the whole Disneyland trip, not like they had that many shows to offer anyways. The show's about Simba's Birthday Celebration, and they kampung folks decided that they would recreate Simba's childhood to entertain Simba The King. What's interesting about it is there were life-sized elephant, giraffe and pumba (pumba ni binatang ape?). Not only they were life-sized, but they move live life ones too! Hebat wey Disney's animators! Kimi and Ach, who both have soft spots for talking animals, enjoyed the show alot.
Festival of the Lion King. Simba, the giraffe and pumba all moved like they were real animals! |
Next was the Jungle River Cruise. The queue was unbelievably long but luckily they queue was split into two, one for chinese speaking guests and the other one for english-speaking guests, which was considerably shorter. I think we only queued for 20 mins, when guests in the other lane queued for 45. The cruise was, well, ok, except that, when we were nearing one of the water explosions, an old man fell to the cruise floor and had a heart attack! He looked like he was dying but that god he didnt. Oh, and our skipper sounded horny with her "Ohh yess, hmmm, yesss".
One of her most memorable quotes was, "If you like the cruise my name is Coco, if you dont my name is Mary". Haha, cute.
By the end of the cruise all three of us were burnt out already. One mistake that we did was going to HK in end of July when it was scorching hot. Panas gila I tell you ach macam mandi peluh.
Dah penat da time ni. |
Tomorrowland
I have never quite liked this part of Disneyland. Takat Space Mountain yang too challenging utk aku tu... takpela terima kasih je la I'd rather ride on It's A Small World for the second time. Btw, we didnt spend too long here.We headed back to the hotel at 6 p.m. Balik, makan dinner dekat hotel, which cost us another HK$58. Tidur-tidur dulu... main-main, makan-makan, mandi-mandi.... that's the advantage of staying at Disney's hotel... lepas dah mandi kami keluar balik at 8 p.m. utk tengok the fireworks show for the second time. Huyehh.
