Of the Invention Named Medela Freestyle

I have no regrets spending on this little machine called Medela Freestyle and let me tell you why.

PROS

It's a dual pump
Means you take lesser time to empty your tanks, because you take advantage of the let down reflex at both tanks as soon as they happen. Bukan senang nak tunggu the reflex datang. It's better than single pump, you have to empty one side, and when the reflex comes sometimes susu from the other tank rugi macam tu je. 

Besides that, I don't have to worry about having to change the bottle in case penuh. Avent bottles, the small ones that fit into the cooler bags, can hold up to 6 oz. This leads to this mental block that I had, I'd pump just to get the bottled filled, when it did, I'd be satisfied and stopped pumping.  With Medela FS, the two bottles can hold up to 16 oz, tak payah risau2 botol penuh. Jadi 6 oz against 16 oz per session. You pick.

Boleh pump hands-free   

Being able to pump hands-free means you can pump and continue doing whatever it is you're doing before your scheduled session comes. This not only mean you can multi-task (we women love to multi-task , it also helps keep your mind off pumping. Maknanya, you're not constantly looking at the bottle to see how much you have pumped or keep timing yourself. Just hook it up and you're free to continue your work. 

Sedar-sedar je you've filled the two bottles. 

I've pumped in the car, at my work desk, pumped sambil feed hadi, pumped sambil masak and pumped sambil pack barang Hadi in the morning before sending him off to the nursery. =)

By the way, thanks to my boss who moved me in the new office. Helps me pump easier and with a peace of mind too.

 

It's quiet, so you can be discreet while pumping
Okay, it's not THAT quiet that no sound comes out out of it but the sound is pretty mild and can be drowned out if you put a pillow on it. Pandai-pandai la nak hidup.

The battery, once fully charged, can last for up to a week
Of course, this depends on your usage. I use it 4 times a day on weekdays and once on weekends, so far I only have to charge it once a week. Okay la tu. 

CON:

Too many parts to wash
The only con I can think of is that there are lotsa parts - four on each side, to clean. The difficult grooves, nooks and crannies. Oh my God. It's time consuming, which is not a good thing when time is of the essence in the office. They're quite slow to dry too but I guess that depends on where and how you dry them.

Considering the many pros, I'll just brave through the few extra minutes taken to wash them.

All in all, I definitely recommend this pump, especially if you aim to feed sampai baby 2 tahun. It's a good investment that you won't regret. Although I can't guarantee that it'll work for you, it certainly did wonders with me.
